Mackage expands range with fall 2023 collection

Montreal-based luxury outerwear and lifestyle brand Mackage has introduced its latest fall/winter collection, which not only builds upon Mackage's legacy of expertly crafted outerwear and leather trenches, but also introduces an expanded range of shearling, hydrology leather, and cashmere garments that firmly establish the brand's foothold in the luxury market.

The collection continues to fuse innovative elements designed to ensure exceptional functionality without compromising on style. From dramatic styling to vibrant colors and meticulous attention to detail, this collection strikes a balance.

One of the collection's standout features is the use of soft wash fabrics, which introduce a unique texture and tactile experience to the puffer category. Beyond aesthetics, Mackage's dedication to sustainability shines through with the incorporation of translucent ripstop materials, hydrology leathers, and the thoughtful use of recycled down.

Tanya Golesic: This season, the Fall/Winter 2023 collection by Mackage draws inspiration from our unwavering commitment to both aesthetics and protection. What sets us apart is our focus on creating styles that seamlessly merge performance and functionality while maintaining sustainability and quality at our core. We’ve focused on elevating our collection and introducing more luxury fabrics from wool and cashmere to luxurious shearling and leather coupled with innovation and world class design.

 
FN: Sustainability is a key focus for Mackage in this collection. Could you elaborate on the sustainable elements and materials used in the designs?
 
TG: Sustainability is indeed a cornerstone of the Fall/Winter 2023 collection. All styles from our city collection are crafted using recycled nylon. This includes popular designs like Julietta-City, Calina-City, Osmond-City, Antoine-City, and more. Furthermore, all of our down adheres to the Responsible Down Standards, our wool is certified by the Responsible Wool Standard, and our leather is sourced as a by-product of the meat industry. Sustainability has been ingrained in our design ethos since our inception.
 
FN: Mackage has a reputation for combining luxury with functionality. How does this collection maintain that balance, especially in challenging weather conditions?
 
TG: This collection upholds Mackage's legacy of blending luxury and functionality, suitable for all climates. We offer a diverse range of styles, from translucent ripstop jackets to recyclable down and protective rain jackets, ensuring customers stay warm and sheltered from all elements. Our jackets have been engineered to provide warmth even in temperatures as cold as -35ºC. The elevated styles and luxurious materials in this collection provide sophistication, an elegant feel, and practical protection, reinforcing our commitment to both performance and style.

TG: The Fall/Winter 2023 collection strikes the perfect balance between style and protection by incorporating luxurious fabrics, lustrous leathers, and soft cashmeres. Innovative elements such as our translucent ripstop styles add a unique touch. Additionally, our City Collection pieces feature Aqua-Guard Zippers, enhancing protection against the elements while maintaining a fashionable edge.
