Clothing retail giant Uniqlo is linking up with anti-poverty charity Trussell Trust for a second consecutive year.

As part of the retailer’s mission “to stay close to local communities and improve people’s lives through [its] LifeWear philosophy”, Uniqlo’s biannual sales event, the  Arigato [Japanese for ‘thank you’] Festival, will run across the EU and UK featuring till-point donations between 23November-21 December with the retailer aiming to match all UK customer donations up to £25,000.

Uniqlo said the festival aims “to show gratitude to its customers and local communities through special events, activities, and exclusive promotions”.

Among those associated initiatives, it will also be donating HeatTech clothing items to people in need within the UK and 10 European markets for a total of 20,000 pieces as part of its longstanding charity partnerships.

Additionally, through its Re.Uniqlo Studios across Europe, the retailer will be hosting sustainability workshops with its customers, “to further educate on the importance of repair, remake and recycle”.
