The Amiri Prize by Mike Amiri, founder and creative director of the LA-based men’s and women’s brand, was established as an annual fashion incubator in 2021 to spotlight the unique and varied voices shaping our future and to create a support system.

The 2023 edition received nearly 1,000 applicants worldwide. Mike, along with a jury of industry experts, selected nine finalists whose work resonated with a sense of purpose, personality, and individualism. The panel members included Colm Dillane, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Law Roach, Lucia Liu, June Ambrose, Rocco Liu, Salehe Bembury, Samuel Ross, and Will Welch.

For the 2023 edition of the prize, the competition was open to international applicants. This year's finalist are from Africa, Asian, Europe and North America. The winner will receive a sum of 100,000 USD and a yearlong mentorship with Mike.

"The Amiri Prize is incredibly personal and important to me. Providing a platform for new talent is a core value of the brand and stems from my own dedication and unconventional path,” said Mike.

“The winner of the Prize will receive a year-long mentorship with myself and access to our infrastructure and resources, empowering them to follow their vision and scale their brand.”

Mike established the brand in 2014. Amiri opened its first retail boutique on Rodeo Drive, in 2020, and has rapidly expanded, with stores popping up in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, as well as international locations in Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai.

Looking ahead, Mike and the jury will review the finalists’ work and announce the 2023 laureate of The Amiri Prize.
