Lucy & Yak marks Black Friday with charity-focused product launch

Published
Nov 16, 2023

Conscious clothing brand Lucy & Yak has launched a limited edition print to celebrate the relationship with its long-time charity partner, the Fior Di Loto Foundation in place of diving into the usual Black Friday discount frenzy.

Available from 21 November Lucy & Yak popular Original Dungarees will be available in a unique print that features a compilation of sketches by the some of the 700 girls living in the villages surrounding Pushkar, Rajasthan, in Northwest India who are being supported by the the foundation’s schooling programme.

The limited edition print has been inspired by their favourite things found in nature, including birds, flowers, animals and insects, “resulting in a medley of vibrant images”.

The dungarees are made from GOTS-Certified Organic Cotton Twill fabric and feature extra-big chest and hip pockets with a relaxed and comfortable fit.

Available in sizes 4-32 in Regular or Long and priced at £69 they feature in both Lucy & Yak's stores and online with 100% of the profit from the dungarees going to the Foundation.

And as part of the brand’s continued move to challenge Black Friday “by upholding positive impact over overconsumption”, during the related sales period (21-27 November) the retailer will also be donating half of all profits to the Foundation.

Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, explained: “Since 2018, we’ve wanted to do Black Friday differently, to demonstrate that business can be done differently. And so with this year’s limited edition dungarees we’re hoping to make a lasting impact in even more young lives.

“We love supporting the girls through their education years and beyond and wanted to celebrate their creativity this year with this new limited edition dungaree. This print can’t help but make you smile and as well as looking good, it's doing good too.”
