Premium UK fashion retailer Jigsaw announced on Wednesday that Jo Sykes “will be parting ways with the company, having been at the creative helm of the brand since June 2019”.

The SS24 collection will be the designer’s last for Jigsaw, “as she embarks onnew opportunities”.

Hash Ladha, the retailer’s CEO (who was named to the role only last month), said: “On behalf of the board, wewould like to thank Jo for the important impact she has had on Jigsaw. Her creative leadership, combined with her determination and drive, has been a significantfactor in elevating our brand. She has shown dedication and passion and she has played a major role in bringing Jigsaw back to being a brand with astrongvisual handwriting and a product proposition with adistinctivepoint of view. Jo will be missed, and I want to take this opportunity on behalf of us all to wish her the very best for the future.”

And Sykes added that she’s “proud of how we have elevated the creativity, sustainability, and diversity within our collections and the brand”.

Sykes’ four years at the brand has been one of the most important periods in its history.

Her tenure began with it working to turn around its declining fortunes. It then took in the pandemic and its stores being closed during lockdowns.

There was also its exit from the Australian market, its closure of luxury business The Shop at Bluebird, a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) that saw it closing some stores, a bounce-back as society opened up again, a move into rental and resale, a return to profit, new stores and a new CEO.

All of this has gone alongside the development of its offer, along with key link-ups such as just last month when the company launched a Roksanda collaboration.
